Welthungerhilfe (WHH)

Logo

Welthungerhilfe is one of the largest private aid organizations in Germany and is committed to a secure diet, the development of agriculture and the conservation of resources. Welthungerhilfe helps people in developing countries to take care of themselves. Their work is financed by private donations and public grants and has many facets: humanitarian aid in crisis and catastrophe situations, reconstruction after wars or natural events, and long-term and sustainable development cooperation when the situation has stabilized. Small-scale farmers in developing countries are the main producers of food. Special attention is paid to the promotion of food security programs through welfare assistance. Currently the aid organization is active in 40 countries with 387 projects. South Sudan, Sudan, Syria (including assistance to Syrians in the south of Turkey and people of northern Iraq), Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are among the five countries with the highest project funding.
